April 2023 No matter the weather, spring doesn't begin in Wilmington until the North Carolina Azalea Festival celebrates this blooming, native American shrub. The annual Wednesday to Sunday event attracts over 300,000 visitors from across the state and country. Entertainment includes a grand downtown parade; a lively street fair lined with delicious foods and crafty vendors; scores of musical and theatrical performances by local and national talent; celebrity guests; historic home and garden tours; and a wonderland of flowering azaleas. The 2023 concert line-up will be announced soon. No Early Bird discounts for this year.
