Porters Neck Plantation is an aficionado's course, aesthetically perfect and strategically challenging. Designed by world renowned golf architect Tom Fazio, this is a par 72 championship course that emphasizes careful club selection. The wide and impeccably maintained fairways undulate in a sometimes deceptive fashion. Distinctive waste mounds planted with native grasses and lakes that span from tee to green (holes 11, 13, 14) add to the course's character. Each hole presents conditions to make the most accurate golfer uncomfortable, yet leave no player unfulfilled. It is no surprise that the 18-hole course was ranked number one on the North Carolina coast by Golf Digest. The course at Porters Neck Plantation and Country Club winds through a private, gated residential development adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway and just north of Wilmington. Public play is invited but limited. Golfers also have access to a full-service pro shop, PGA–trained staff and a beautiful Federal-style clubhouse. The entrance gate is approximately 1 mile from the property limit on Porters Neck Road. Visit the Porters Neck website for a virtual tour of the course.
