An on-campus facility offering quality developmental programs and training for early childhood professionals is offered by Cape Fear Community College, primarily for the children of students. This lab school and model program provides an environment that fosters the growth of the whole child in all areas of development including social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative. Programs are developed based on the philosophy that children are competent, autonomous people and each child's developmental level, needs and interests are of utmost priority. Activities facilitate learning through play and "hands on" experiences. Opportunities to interact with the environment, explore, experiment, and problem solve, including including free play, individualized, and small group teacher directed activities are available to a maximum of 60 children.
The center is open from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and is located in the Allied Health Building L, beside the dental clinic on the downtown Cape Fear Community College campus. Parents are encouraged to visit and complete an early application due to long waiting lists. All applicants are welcome!
