The City of Wilmington's lighted outdoor skate park is open to both inline skaters and skateboarders. All use the same area, which features multi-bowls with a banked street course complete with hips, ledges, a flat bar and a quarter pipe. A helmet, pads and waiver are required, and skaters must be at least 7 years old. Skaters 12 and younger must have parental supervision. Membership is available to residents and non-residents. The park offers beginner clinics and skate camps for kids during the summer, as well as snowboard trips for the 18-plus age group during the winter. In addition, the park hosts events such as team demonstrations and competitions. Call the park or stop by to find out about upcoming events. Skate park hours are Tuesday through Saturday noon to 10 PM and Sunday 1 to 8 PM. The park is closed on Mondays.
