Paw'e Place moved into their new indoor facility in Winnabow in 2017. The facility was made possible through the efforts of volunteers and wonderful supporters. Paws Place, a no-kill, non-profit 501 (c) 3 shelter dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of dogs, opened its doors in 1999. The facility operates entirely on donations and an unending love for animals. Upon arrival, each dog is fully vetted and examined. Before they are available for adoption, the dogs are spayed or neutered, given all age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, started on heartworm preventative, and showered with love and affection. Volunteer opportunities are available in, but not limited to the following areas: kennel duties including feeding, walking, grooming, bathing and playing with dogs and puppies; maintaining the grounds; socializing dogs; event planning; fundraising; grant writing; publicity and adoption events. You can find Paw's Place on Facebook or their website to learn more about ways that you can help, or you can stop by the kennel. Paws Place is open Monday through Wednesday, 9 AM until noon; Thursday through Saturday, 10 AM until 2 PM. No appointment is necessary.
