Healing Arts practitioners offer therapies that complement medical care, enhance life quality and help in the development of coping skills. The goal is to promote healing, improve pain management, ease grief, encourage expression of feelings and enhance relaxation. All practitioners are volunteers who receive orientation and training. Some are certified in expressive arts therapy, massage therapy, integrative yoga therapy, dance-movement therapy, music therapy, and others are visiting artists such as musicians, visual artists and horticultural therapists. Music is by far the most requested intervention by clients in hospice and their families, and the need for performing musicians is ongoing. For more information contact Lorraine Perry, Healing Arts Coordinator/Bereavement Counselor.
