Founded in 1971, the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra is a cultural jewel in the Port City's crown, performing a series of concerts that enrich, entertain and educate thousands of adults and school children throughout the year. The musicians are local instrumentalists, gifted students and faculty, all who are selected by audition. The conductor, Dr. Steven Errante, is professor of music at UNCW. The Wilmington Symphony Orchestra also continues to serve the Cape Fear Region as a leader in music education through an extensive educational and outreach program. Concerts take place at the Wilson Center. Call 910 362-7999 for schedule and tickets.
