Art aficionados have a local gem in Jenny McKinnon Wright's studio, where they can find a sampling of the plein air oil painter's work. She is an award-winning artist who believes that working in plein air allows her to "capture the emotion that only painting in that location can offer." Then, those places can become the viewer's own experience. A North Carolina Azalea Festival artist, her work is in private and public collections throughout the United States and Europe. She is galleried in Sunset River Marketplace and in shops throughout the region. Wright studied art at East Carolina University and Georgia State University, and she has taught in the school system. She continues to instruct private art students of all ages. Inspired by the Impressionists, Wright continues to study with nationally recognized painters.
