Offering a wide variety of fitness and educational activities, the Wilmington Family YMCA's goal is to "make our community stronger." They do not have contracts at the YMCA and it is open for all! The YMCA’s Express Y facility features state-of-the-art wellness equipment including cardio, free-weight and selectorized equipment. Additionally the Express Y is home to more than 100 group exercise classes each week ranging from aerobics, yoga, cycling, Pilates, TRX, seated aerobics, barre, kickboxing, and family classes- available to members for free! The Y ensures that every class is adaptable to serve all levels of fitness. Wellness & personal training programs are individualized to meet specific needs and interests.
For younger members, the Y now permits youth ages 8-15 to become certified so that they too can use the Express Y’s cardio and selectorized equipment. Additionally, the Y allows kids ages 5-12 to join their parents in group exercise classes! The Express Y also provides family members a free Child Watch service for children ages 6 weeks – 12 years during designated times. This area provides fun and engaging activities so that parents can have ease of mind while working out.
In addition to its Express Y facility, the Wilmington Family YMCA offers members access to two indoor pools, a large gymnasium, a hot tub and outdoor track and fields at its 2710 Market Street location. These facilities provide program areas for both youth and adult sports, organized seasonally.
