Operated by the Tregembo family for more than 65 years, the Tregembo Animal Park houses more than 130 species of animals. In addition to traditional zoo favorites such as monkeys, the zoo has a white tiger, lions, black leopards, a prehensile tail porcupine, river otters, and a group of ring-tailed lemurs that reside on their very own Lemur Island. There is also a Rainforest Exhibit with owl monkeys and cotton-top tamarins. Kids and parents will have a great time exploring the park, feeding the ducks and goats and watching the monkeys' amusing antics.
Don't miss their 2,500 sq. ft. exhibit of reptiles and amphibians. This exhibit includes interesting creatures from around the globe like fruit bats, Mata Mata turtle (straight from the Amazon), and a two-headed turtle.
The large gift shop is filled with educational, animal-related toys, T-shirts and nautical souvenirs. The park closes during the winter season. Call for hours and admission prices. Special rates are available for school groups but call ahead.
